Slade1224,
Also there are ways to not even smoke it?
There are definitely many ways of not smoking it. Vaporizers, edibles, and tinctures. You might want to google and find a whole range of options. This is a good source of information for starters.
i was wondering what the view jehovah witnesses and the bible and tract society had on medical cannabis?
i remember as a kid reading in the reasoning book that marijuana was bad and smoking it caused cancer and was worse then cigarettes.
as more reach comes out we are leaning marijuana can cure certain forms of cancer!

and briefly it tells of an equipment failure at a storage facility for ice cores that had been extracted from the polar ice cap in various locations.. but note, that the layers of ice evident in the cores covered a period of 22,000 years.
and from the christian/jw perspective, that's impossible, for the bible story of the flood (verified by jesus and sundry other biblical writers) maintains that 4000+ years ago, the ice caps would have melted during the period when the earth was covered by the divinely caused deluge.
Science and Earth History: The Evolution/Creation Controversy is a 500 page encyclopedia of Creationist folklore and their thorough scientific rebuttals. Well worth the price. Highly recommended for the Perry's of this world.

howdy guys!
so how long has it been since you have seen your jw family or friends?
or do you even care to have them in your life anymore?
Fortunately, I have no family in but it's been 37 years since I've seen any of my friends.

Finkelstein,
Yes another case of creationists (Perry) being intellectually dishonest.
Creationists indulge in what psychologists call confirmatory bias. You wouldn't catch them doing a real investigation looking at both sides of the issue. As the author Stephen Covey once said: "Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply."

What scriptural justification is there for concluding that the world is six thousand years old anyways? Are Creationists just summing up the recorded lifetimes of everyone from Adam to Jesus? They do know there are huge gaps, don't they?
Rainbow, Perry and company use the same logic that the Watchtower does. Any gaps, like the 'Adam and Eve Gap' of the Watchtower, doesn't faze him. It's known as Young Earth Creationism.
There are old earth creationists who acknowledge the fact that the Earth is older than a mere 6,000 years. Perry is not one of them. He's much closer to the JWs who were inspired by the chronological ju-ju priests of the 19th century.
There are also many Liberal Christians, and even some Evangelicals, who believe in theistic evolution. Perry is definitely not one of them. And, before Perry goes on an anti-evolution tirade, let me ask him, if he dares to reply: Is belief in old earth creationism or more importantly theistic evolution a salvation issue? Is Perry's fellow worshipper at church doomed to Gehenna if he should believe, God forbid, in theistic evolution?
What will happen if someone partake the wine and bread at memorial? Should we all do that?
They'll tell us to go get our own building to have our memorial.

Perry, ice cores have yearly layers that go all the way back to 880,000 years ago. They are about 2-3 mm thick per layer. Needless to say, it doesn't take much to go over the 6,000 year limit that Young Earth Creationists like to project on the Bible.
my g'daughter and her hubby are stationed in okinawa.. i talked with her a few hours earlier today, and she stated they're preparing for the worst.. young people are remarkably resilient, aren't they?.
